Low maintenance town house garden in Cheltenham
Before and after.....
The only access to the garden was through the house, so the owners were keen to re-use materials already in the garden. The recycled slabs set into the gravel were found amongst the rubbish, and along with the angled decking edge reflect the 45 degree angle of the summerhouse.
The owners have spent some time abroad so I included species from the countries they have visited to give a lush exotic feel.
The grape vine will be trained up the end wall to break it up, and the bamboo and fig tree screen the chimney pots on the left.
The existing raised beds now have additional planting, and the whole garden has been fitted with an irrigation system to maintain the plants while they got established. The decking bridges a basement area and provides direct access from the kitchen for outdoor dining.
